The Prime Minister visits Koraro, Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Prime Minister, His Excellency Meles Zenawi visited Koraro Millennium Research Village on the 20th of September 2006. The premier was accompanied by his Foreign Minister Seyoum Mesfin, and the regional President of Tigray, Tsegay Berhe.
During their three hours stay, the premier and his collegues visited a newly established town at the village center, a flour mill contributed by the Millennium Project, fruit and vegetable growing farmers near the Agefet river, area conserved and enclosed, a community truck at work (also contributed by the project), and the village clinic.
The Millennium Village Project staff briefed the premier on all the sector interventions that are aimed at lift the village community out of the poverty trap.
Prime Minister Meles was welcome by the community members and further held in-depth discussion with them on development activities being carried out in their village.
